Bio medical Science is the pure application of biology along with science in the field of medical science, may it be for research purpose, or for any medical treatment. It is the continuous research going on in the bio medical science has not only improved our standard of living, but also improved our health conditions. A bio medical scientist, also known as a medical scientist is a trained scientist especially in the field of medical science. They work hard to study and analyze various factors like the biological principles governing the body functions, the reason for the development of various disease and new and improved methods for the treatment of the same. The research conducted the bio medical scientist is termed as bio medical research.

The casualty department where accidents and emergency cases are treated and the operation theaters in the hospitals would not have functioned efficiently, if there were no biomedical scientists. The most important role of a bio medical scientist is to do blood tests before doing any blood transfusion in case of any emergency or accident patients. They also do the blood tests to diagnose HIV, leukemia, any infections, intake of overdosed medicines or even food poisoning. A person in a critical situation needs immediate treatment and it is not possible, unless they diagnose the problem to be treated. Hence the life of a patient depends mainly on the skill efficiency, and knowledge of the biomedical scientist. They also diagnose other conditions like cervical cancer, identifying the viruses or bacteria from the test sample and also the effectiveness of a particular treatment on the patient’s body.
Biomedical scientists cannot produce good results if they are working in isolated groups. They need to be in constant communication and participation with the doctors, nurses or other medical or health care professionals. When a patient consults a doctor with any particular illness, the first thing he will be asked to do is to take a medical test, mostly blood test, or any other tests which the doctor feels is necessary for the diagnosis of the disease. The bio medical scientist will do the proper study and analysis of the sample received and submits a detailed report to the concerned doctor. Based on this report, the doctor will decide on the medication to be used for the treatment of that patient. Right medication is impossible without right diagnosis!
